Soy wax candles have become a favourite for anyone who wants a cleaner, more natural way to fill their home with scent. Every only ensō candle is hand poured with 100% soy wax, and here's why we chose it.
It's plant-based and renewable
Soy wax is made from soybean oil, a crop that can be grown again every year. Paraffin wax, which most mass-produced candles use, is a by-product of the petroleum industry. Choosing soy means choosing a wax that comes from plants, not fossil fuels.
A cleaner, gentler burn
Soy wax burns with less black soot than paraffin, so your jars, walls and ceilings stay cleaner. Paired with our cotton wicks, it gives a calm, steady flame.
A slower, longer burn
Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin, so it melts slowly and evenly. Look after it with our candle care guide and you'll get every hour out of it: our 160g candles burn for around 35 to 40 hours.
Easy to clean up
Spilled a little wax? Soy wax cleans up with warm soapy water, and it makes reusing your jar simple once your candle is finished.
Vegan and cruelty free
Soy wax contains no beeswax or animal products, which means our whole range can be vegan and cruelty free.
A little note on frosting
You might notice white, cloudy patches on the top or sides of a soy candle. That's frosting, a natural effect of pure soy wax. It's a sign there's no paraffin blended in, and it doesn't change how your candle burns or smells.
